Unlike the Property Industry, the valuation and auction of Goods, Chattels, Plant & Equipment in Australia is largely unregulated therefore no official licence is required. (find out more)

For that reason, the AVAA was established with the objective to secure and elevate the standard of the professions of Auctioneers and Valuers in this industry. To become a Certified Member of the AVAA, Auctioneers and Valuers are required to demonstrate knowledge, skills, experience and adhere to the Association’s professional and ethical standards.

The AVAA has various membership categories to cater for the diverse skills and needs of our members, including corporate, valuer, auctioneer, valuer & auctioneer and associate.

We are offering a three-month trial AVAA membership to qualifying applicants.

You will be included in AVAA communications and gain insight into the benefits of a Membership. This is a no-obligation opportunity, and at the end of the three-month trial, you will be taken off the database unless you choose to apply for Membership.

Trial members also receive a 25% discount off AVAA education courses.

Note: The AVAA trial membership does not include the use of the AVAA logo, nor are trial members able to state they are members of the AVAA. It is only for the purpose of insight into the AVAA and what great benefits membership provides.

During 2022 the AVAA is offering some fantastic initiatives and projects to help promote members and the need to use Certified Valuers and Auctioneers.

Some projects planned include:

  • A new Online Accreditation program for members. This accreditation is to ensure AVAA members have sufficient protections in place for users of their platforms and to build trust in AVAA accredited online auction platforms. The AVAA have worked with consultants to design templates and policy guides to implement within your business to gain Accreditation.
  • A webinar series to cover some of the topics we have been contacted most about – including Professional Indemnity Insurance, Pricing after COVID, Valuations for Court & Expert Witness Valuations
  • A microsite to answer the commonly asked questions we receive from the public, which will help promote our members and the need to use certified valuers.
  • An intensive digital marketing campaign to promote members.

For members who sign up for the trial membership and then go on to become certified members, we will waive the AVAA Membership Application Fee.  Those who wish to become a Member must meet the requirements of membership which can be found here.

Simply register your interest and we will be in contact within 48 hours. Once we confirm we have all the required information we will commence the trial membership and provide information about what is required for an AVAA Membership should you wish to continue at the end of the trial.
