The Auctioneers & Valuers Association of Australia (AVAA) is pleased to announce the release of its 2025 Annual Report, marking an important milestone in the Association’s ongoing journey to strengthen the auctioneering and valuation profession across Australia.
This year’s report reflects a period of significant achievement and forward-looking strategy. Central to 2025 was the finalisation and adoption of the 2025–2030 AVAA Strategic Plan, which sets a clear vision for the next five years. Developed through careful consultation with members, the plan focuses on enhancing professional standards, increasing member value, and expanding AVAA’s influence within industry and government. It positions AVAA to deliver stronger advocacy, education, and engagement outcomes that directly benefit members and the broader community.
The report also highlights progress in strengthening governance, embedding a member-centric culture, and advancing digital transformation. Initiatives such as the AVAA Online Auction Accreditation and the AVAA Corporate Cyber Risk and Compliance Program have been introduced to meet emerging challenges while safeguarding professional integrity. These practical tools support members in navigating issues such as cyber security, compliance, and operational risk.

Professional development remains a priority, with new online learning opportunities introduced in 2025. Courses in auctioneering, goods and chattels valuation, and fine and decorative arts valuation are ensuring members have access to flexible, high-quality training that supports both career progression and the profession’s reputation for excellence.
Membership growth and recognition also feature strongly in the report. Across all categories, members have engaged actively in AVAA initiatives, reflecting the depth and diversity of the sector. The introduction of the Fellow of the AVAA (FAVAA) credential represents a new pinnacle of professional recognition, celebrating those who have demonstrated outstanding expertise, leadership, and long-term contribution.
Finally, the Annual Report reaffirms AVAA’s role as a global voice through its membership of the International Valuation Standards Council (IVSC). This connection ensures Australian professionals remain aligned with international best practice while influencing the global conversation on valuation standards.
The 2025 AVAA Annual Report demonstrates AVAA’s commitment to building a strong, modern, and member-driven organisation. It showcases achievements from the past year while setting a bold agenda for the years ahead. Members and stakeholders are invited to download and read the full report to see how AVAA is working to strengthen the profession today and into the future.
