Australian Economic Snapshots

The Auctioneers and Valuers Association of Australia (AVAA) publishes two frequently published economic resources, the AVAA Australian Economic Snapshot and the AVAA Composition of the Australian Economy, providing certified valuers and auctioneers with a concise overview of the economic environment influencing markets and asset values. Together, these downloadable reports support informed decision-making and provide useful context for valuation and auction activities.

The AVAA Australian Economic Snapshot tracks key indicators including interest rates, inflation, economic growth, employment, wages, household savings and international economic conditions. These measures help AVAA Certified Valuers (CVAu) and AVAA Certified Auctioneers (CAAu) understand the broader factors influencing consumer confidence, market sentiment and transactional activity.

The AVAA Composition of the Australian Economy examines the structure of economic activity, including industry output, population trends, exports, household wealth, housing markets and trade relationships. This information assists certified professionals in understanding the sectors and demographic factors that underpin demand across a wide range of asset classes.

For certified valuers with the CVAu credential, access to current economic data provides valuable context when preparing valuation reports, assessing market evidence and explaining economic influences affecting market value. Monthly updates support professional judgement across fine art, collectables, motor vehicles, plant and equipment, household goods and other specialised assets.

The reports provide certified auctioneers with the CAAu credential insight into economic conditions that influence buyer confidence, auction clearance rates and market participation. Regular access to reliable economic indicators assists auctioneers in understanding changing conditions and communicating market trends to vendors and purchasers with greater confidence and authority.
