In a submission to a parliamentary inquiry, AVAA has warned that the proposed capital gains tax reforms will create one of the largest valuation exercises ever undertaken in Australia, affecting millions of taxpayers and a diverse range of assets. The Association is calling for Treasury and the ATO to develop a national CGT Valuation Framework to provide certainty, improve compliance, reduce disputes and support effective tax administration..

The Standard confirms that AI may assist research, analysis and report preparation, but responsibility for valuation conclusions remains firmly with the valuer, strengthening confidence in valuation services across government, business and the wider community.

AVAA has achieved a record membership renewal rate exceeding 97 per cent, demonstrating strong confidence in the Association’s strategic direction and its credentials-based professional framework. The result reflects growing recognition of the AVAA Certified Valuer (CVAu) and AVAA Certified Auctioneer (CAAu) designations as benchmarks of competence, accountability and trust, while positioning AVAA for projected membership growth of around 20 per cent during 2026.
