The AVAA Professional Standards establish clear expectations for professional conduct, competency, risk management and service delivery across valuation and auction practice. Together, they provide a practical framework that supports consistency, professionalism, consumer confidence and the ongoing advancement of the profession.

AVAA invites members, industry participants and other interested stakeholders to review the following drafts AVAA Professional Standard and provide feedback. Consultation is an important part of the standards development process and helps ensure that each standard is practical, relevant and reflective of contemporary professional practice.  The following draft standards are currently available for public comment.

AVAA Professional Standards Draft/s For Comment —

Status:  Non-current (Public Comment)

Establishes nationally recognised valuation definitions and principles for the valuation of physical assets, together with guidance on the selection and application of valuation methodologies, bases of value, market evidence, assumptions, professional judgement, valuation uncertainty and reconciliation, to support consistent, transparent and reliable valuation practice.

Feedback should be provided using the downloadable consultation response form and should clearly identify the relevant standard, clause number, suggested amendment and supporting rationale.

Yuor contribution plays an important role in strengthening the final standards. All submissions received during the consultation period will be reviewed by the AVAA Membership & Professional Standards Committee before recommendations are made to the AVAA Board for consideration and endorsement.  Comment is due by 31 August 2026.
