Demand for professional valuation services continues to grow, with the number of valuation requests submitted through the Auctioneers and Valuers Association of Australia (AVAA) website already trending toward a record level in 2026.

The AVAA website includes a dedicated valuation request service that connects individuals and businesses with professionals who hold the AVAA Certified Valuer (CVAu) credential. The platform has become an increasingly important channel for members of the public seeking trusted, professionally prepared valuations.

The process is straightforward. Individuals or organisations requiring a valuation complete a short electronic form on the AVAA website describing the asset or collection they wish to have assessed. Once received, AVAA forwards the request to members who hold the CVAu credential. Those members with relevant expertise can then contact the prospective client directly to discuss the valuation and provide further information about their services.

The system ensures that valuation requests reach appropriately qualified professionals while allowing clients to connect with specialists who understand the specific asset type involved.

Since the beginning of the year, AVAA members have received a remarkably diverse range of valuation enquiries through the platform. Requests have included fine art paintings, commercial trucks, collectables such as Pokémon cards, historical cavalry swords, and even an antique eyewear collection. The breadth of enquiries highlights both the diversity of assets requiring professional valuation and the wide range of expertise held by AVAA Certified Valuers.

Early indicators suggest that 2026 will become a record year for valuation requests received through the AVAA website. The steady increase reflects growing awareness of the role professional valuers play in providing reliable, defensible assessments of asset value.

One key factor driving this trend is the growing recognition of the CVAu credential. The structured framework supporting the credential emphasises that valuation is its own highly specialised professional discipline requiring expertise, methodology, and professional accountability. As more members adopt the CVAu post-nominals and display the credential through their digital badges and member logos, the public is increasingly recognising the designation as a marker of professional credibility.

The rising visibility of the CVAu credential is helping clients identify valuers who meet the AVAA Professional Standards. In turn, this recognition is contributing to the increasing number of valuation enquiries being directed through the AVAA platform.
